Over the last few weeks, we have been doing a lot of work to upgrade and improve GetOut. This week we finally brought all the components together, fixed the bugs, and moved everything live.

Groups and Organizations

We are happy to have added 2 new sections. The first is for Groups and Organizations. It allows us to help promote NJ groups that deserve some promotion. From JORBA to the Outdoor Club of South jersey, we want to have a one stop place for you to find groups that will get you outside.

Do you have a group or organization that you would like added? Please visit the Contact page for information on how you can provide this group to us.

Galleries / Media / Photos

The Media module of GetOut is about 95% complete. At this point we can now easily add images to listings/groups/calendar listings and more. It is really going make the site look a lot nicer. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for new galleries, and a lot of pictures that will be added.

Overall Cleanup..

Besides a nice new header for each page, we also cleaned up each section / search area, ensuring that we have a uniform and standard look for each page. This allows you to quickly navigation each section and page without having to re-learn what content we have shared.

Feedback and Sharing

We have cleaned up the "Share" buttons near the top of the page. This should allow people to share, print and email our pages even easier. There is also a floating menu on the left side of the page that allows you to quickly share the current page you are on.

Beyond sharing, we are also hoping that you share your thoughts on GetOut with us directly. On the bottom right side of the page you will see a Feedback link. Once you click on that you will see what other people have shared, as well as share your own thoughts on what can be done better.

"Parks In NJ" google placement..

Beyond these changes, I also wanted to mention something that we all felt was rather nice to find. If you go to google.com, and search for "Parks in NJ", GetOut shows up on the first. Now I understand that depending on where you are in the world, GetOut may not show up here. But since I can see it while sitting in NJ, I consider it a win :)

New Locations

Below you will find the new locations and new groups that have been added to GetOut. We hope to have a steady stream of new listings throughout the next few weeks. Check back here, and on our Facebook page often.

Have a great night - Jeff C
