Cheesequake State Park has great hiking, camping, a biking trail, swimming areas and more.

The Park

Cheesequake State Park is located in Matawan, NJ. Within the park, you will find trails for hiking/walking, a trail for mountain biking, a nature center, places to fish, picnic areas and a beach to swim. We usually visit Cheesequake a few times a year, mainly for hiking.. We know many more people that visit every few weekends for a great place to picnic. Have you ever visited here?

The Campground

Though we have not yet been able to camp within the campground, we have visited the grounds. There are 53 tent and trailer sites, all a good size with a picnic table and fire ring. They are also well shaded, and we did not see many rocks -- great for tent camping! We can't wait to camp there this year!

Cheesequake Campground

53 tent and trailer sites with fire rings and picnic tables. Flush toilets and shower facilities are within walking distance. Trailer sanitary station available. There is an 11-foot height restriction for vehicles entering the camping area.
