If you're looking for something to do to celebrate Valentine's Day, you have more than a few options. The Garden State Wine Growers Association is presenting another Valentine's Day Chocolate & Wine Trail Weekend throughout the state at participating wineries during the weekends of 2/7 and 2/14. Many of these wineries will be adding their own special touches to this event, including food and music. NJ wineries are busier than usual during these weekends. However, they expect to be busy and they tend to be accommodating to the extra volume.

Here are some wine trails for you to consider in order of North to South. I listed wineries in addition to those that belong to the Wine Growers Association, because they may also have special events going on.

Trails by county...

  1. Westfall Winery, Ventimiglia Vineyards, Cava Winery & Vineyard

Beyond the trails...

There are more Valentine's Day related events, in addition to the wine trail weekends. On February 7th, Haddonfield is hosting Haddonfield Uncorked . This town was historically a dry town. They recently passed a law allowing them to sell NJ wines in retail establishments. Visit Haddonfield's downtown shops to purchase bottles of wine and gifts for Valentine's Day.

On February 13th, Beneduce Vineyards is hosting their 3rd Annual Tuxedo Release and Valentine's Day Dinner. This event features fine wines paired with gourmet fare. Guests are encouraged to dress in black and white attire. Reservations are required.

On February 14th, you'll find more special Valentine's Day events. Four Sisters Winery is hosting another Murder Mystery Dinner and Wine Tasting. Willow Creek Winery will be presenting a special Valentine's Day Dinner, which will feature 5 courses paired with their wines. Cream Ridge Winery is hosting Wine and Cheesecake. Their wines are perfect for a cheesecake pairing. Renault Winery Resort & Golf is offering a special package to complete your weekend. Their package includes room, dinner, breakfast, wine tour and tasting.

With the exception of the wine trail weekends, keep in mind that many of these wineries and events require reservations for their special events. Whatever you decide to, have a good time with your beloved friends or partners. Enjoy!
