General Information

Located along the Manasquan river, Manasquan River Wildlife Management Area is a haven for wildlife from heavily developed surrounding area. It contains hiking and biking trails, as well as hunting over the winter.

A car-top launch is available for boating on the river. the river itself is stocked with brook, brown, and rainbow trout and is the focus of the Division's sea run trout program. fishing is also good for eels, catfish and white perch. Hunting opportunities exist for small game and waterfowl.

An excerpt from the NJ State Site:
Off Ramshorn Dr., Allenwood NJ. A paved road leads to a sand road directly to the river. Primitive launch suitable for small boat, canoe or kayak. Freshwater tidal. The river is fairly wide at this point, and is often referred to as the Allenwood Lagoon as there are many backwaters created when the tide is high.
