Fall And Winter Recap - March 2016

Updated: Jul 17, 2020 Short URL: gonj.me/9726ak

Each month we try to find fun new places to visit. Other the fall and winter seasons, we usually "slow down" a bit once the weather gets cold. But that does not mean that we do not stop getting outside :) Here is a quick recap of our adventures.

October (2015)...

South Mountain / Hemlock Falls (Essex County)

We started off the month visiting a "new to us" section of South Mountain Reservation. Though we visited the Turtle Back Zoo, we had not explored the trails of the park at all. We parked at the "Summit Field (south, central, north)" parking area, and took a 2 mile hike down to visit Hemlock Falls. The falls were pretty... the hike was nice.. all the people we met along the way were great... we certainly want to get back here again!

Tatum Park (Monmouth County)

Next up was a hike through a beautiful location in Monmouth County, called Tatum Park. This park, maintained by theMonmouth County Parks System, offers many miles of trails for biking, hiking, horseback riding, and much more. Our walk took us from the parking area near Deep Cut Gardens, and hiked a good bit of the park. We put 4.2 miles under our belt, but could have added a few more if we really tried.
