The NJ State Museum shared the following great program / information with us. We wanted to pass that onto you here:

NJ State Museum Is Proud to Participate in Blue Star Museums to Offer FREE Admission to Active Military Personnel and their Families for the Summer!

As we all get ready to celebrate Independence Day this July 4th, it is important to take time to remember all those who have served and sacrificed to help The United State maintain its freedom. That is why the State Museum is proud to be a part of Blue Star Museums- a program created to offer FREE admission to active military personnel and up to five family members from Memorial Day, May 27, through Labor Day, September 2, 2013.

Blue Star Museums is collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America. The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps - and up to five family members.

The NJ State Museum has a "suggested" admission fee. Admission fee revenue supports the Museum's collections, exhibitions and programs.
