Industry, Immigration, and the Hermitage The Industrial Revolution saw the Rosencrantz family at the Hermitage propelled into upper middleclass society. But their comfortable lifestyle was supported by a cast of immigrant servants and mill workers. This lecture will explore the lives of the Irish domestic servants who lived at the Hermitage and the men, women, and children who worked the Rosencrantz cotton mill. Each lecture will begin in the Hermitage Summer Kitchen promptly at 7:30pm. The lectures last approximately one hour and a half. Tickets are $10 per person and can be reserved in advance by calling 201-445-8311. Space is limited to 20 people per program. ADA accessible
