Weekly Walk-About at Duke Farms

Event Photos:

The Weekly Walk-About is a family friendly evening program focused on four general topics: water, forests, meadows and earth. Each Tuesday evening, participants will be guided to a Duke Farms location for a hands-on investigation.

June 25: Earth: This class will include Native vs. Non-Native Plants, growing conditions and the effects of invasive species on local populations. Can you spot invasive species and some of our more common plants on our property?

July 9: Forests: Participants will identify a variety of trees and learn about what makes a healthy forest. Explore some of the less traveled areas of Duke Farms while learning about trees and their important role with climate change.

July 16: Meadows: Fascinating predator-prey relationships will be explored in some of our far-reaching meadows. Learn about their inhabitants including a wide assortment of featured pollinators.

Prepare to walk on natural trails and be on your feet for the class session. Dress for the weather. Classes run rain or shine.
