Camp Burton at Allaire, 1929

Explore and learn about Allaire's history in the early 20th century when the Boy Scouts of America were allowed to create a special "reservation" and "camp" on the grounds of Arthur Brisbane's "Allaire Estate" - now known as the Historic Village at Allaire!It's 1929 and the village is owned by famous Hearst editor, Arthur Brisbane. Each summer he invites thousands of Boy Scouts from all over the State to use the village buildings and grounds as their own special learning community. And now, nearly 100 years later they are coming back!
