On July 1st, we joined the folks from Adventures in NJ on a hike in the Bear Swamp Natural Area. This adventure started from the main lot off Maxim Rd, just a bit from Soldier Memorial Park. We followed the wide dirt paths through open fields, through thick woods, and even over a few spots that look like the thick mud had only dried that morning.
Our complete hike covered 2.5 miles in a slow 2 hours. We were in no rush, and enjoyed every minute of this hot summer day. This small but beautiful park in Howell was a delight to visit, and we hope to stop in again when in the area.
