This past weekend, we finally took a hike in Jenny Jump State Forest. Though we have been here many times to visit the observatory (United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey), we have never hiked. And we are so glad we did!
Our short but very enjoyable hike started at the main lot just past the ranger station in the campground. We followed part of the Summit Trail (yellow) to the Spring Trail (dark blue) and headed back to the main lot along the Swamp Trail (red).
Total we hiked 1.4 miles in 47 minutes, taking 3m800+ steps!
The only hiccup was the number of mosquitoes. Hopefully, they will die down a bit once the temps drop this fall.
Have you ever been here?
