The Assunpink Wildlife Management area is located in extreme western Monmouth County, in the approximate geographic center of the state. Despite its proximity to encroaching development, it is still a haven for wildlife native to the area, as well as a stopover for migrating birds. Assunpinks 5,700 acres offer many attractions to the human population as well.[1] Many activities are allowed within the park. Seasonal hunting/fishing, boating[2] (kayaking/roof top launch plus small electric engines), horseback riding, an RC field and seasonal mountain biking (you can only bike during the warmer months). [1]: Description taken from [2]: A NJ Boat Ramp Maintenance Permit is required to launch within this park. You can read all the rules and regulations here.
