Things to See & Do

Please always remember that hunting is allowed throughout the year in all WMAs. This means you should always be familiar with allrules, as well as just how to use the property properly during each season. As in, if you are hiking or biking during active hunting, wear blaze orange and respect the hunters using the land.

A car-top launch is available for boating on the river.

The river itself is stocked with brook, brown, and rainbow trout and is the focus of the Division's sea run trout program.

Fishing is also good for eels, catfish and white perch. Hunting opportunities exist for small game and waterfowl.

Hiking and Biking are allowed throughout the year in all WMAs. Special permits and/or restrictions on when you can bike throughout year do apply. Please ensure you understand the rules before visiting.

Facilities

There are no facilities within the WMA. This means no bathrooms.

Parking

There are a few parking lots around the WMA.

North of the Manasquan River

There is a large main entrance the leads to a large parking lot and rooftop boat launch found along Ramshorn Dr, kinda near the general store. This paved park road leads to a sand road directly to the river. Primitive launch suitable for small boat, canoe or kayak. Freshwater tidal. The river is fairly wide at this point, and is often referred to as the Allenwood Lagoon as there are many backwaters created when the tide is high.Folks also park along the park road here to gain access to a few trails.Off Ramshorn Dr., Allenwood NJ.

There is also another small parking lot down Ramshorn that gives quick access to the trails.

South of the Manasquan River

There is a nice sized lot just past the Brick Recycling Center on Ridge Ave (in Brick). This lot offers great access to the trails south of the river. This is where we usually park since you will find a good amount of trails off this lot.

There is a seasonal lot used for hunting in the winter found near the corner of Metedeconk Rd and Allenwood Lakewood Rds. I say seasonal because the lot is fenced off most of the year.
