Jun 28. 2012: Featured Place: Hacklebarney State Park
We have only visited Hacklebarney State Park one time since finding it a few years ago, and we can not wait to get back. The primary trails are well kept, somewhat challenging, but are not so hard that you will be hurting. The streams, water falls, and the Black River are amazing for fishing, sightseeing, and just enjoying the sounds of rushing water. You will also find a few playgrounds for the little ones to work off the rest of their energy. It is just a great park!

Jun 22. 2012: Featured Place: Sourland Mountain Preserve
Sourland Mountain Preserve is a great place for a lot of activities. Personally, we hike here once a year, usually in the fall. The trails are challenging for sure. Steep-ish hills, lots of rocks to step around, and simply great views. The mountain biking here is great. Many groups do group rides here to help show people around. Keep an eye out on the JORBA site for these rides.

May 25. 2012: Featured Place: The Great Divide Campground
In 2012, one of our favorite campgrounds in NJ was purchased by a new owner. Green Valley Beach, was bought and renamed to The Great Divide Campground. At first we were a little apprehensive of this change. But as we discussed some improvements/changes directly with the new management, we knew they were going to be a great change.

Feb 22. 2012: Ringwood Manor Closed For Cleaning because of a malfunctioning furnace
Ringwood Manor, the historic country house at the heart of Ringwood State Park, will be closed for the remainder of the winter to allow for cleanup of soot released by a malfunctioning furnace. The DEP's State Park Service will be working with historical conservators to ensure careful and thorough cleaning of the interior of the Manor House and its artifacts.
